Off Road Rules & Information

Race director will have ultimate authority over rules enforcement. The Race director may make modifications as is necessary.  The primary basis for any rules decision will be what is best for the majority of racers.

General Rules:

Classes Run - Additional classes will be made available based upon demand.  A minimum of 5 entrants is required for a class to form.

1/8 Scale Nitro Buggy - this class will be split out into sportsman and expert categories based upon the number of entrants.  Electric 1/8 buggies may run in this class if not enough vehicles are present to run them as a separate class.

1/8 Scale Nitro Truggy - this class will be split out into sportsman and expert categories based upon the number of entrants.  Electric 1/8 truggies may run in this class if not enough vehicles are present to run them as a separate class.

2WD Short Course - Any 2WD Short Course truck is allowed in this class.  This class will be combined with the 4WD Short Course trucks if not enough vehicles are present.

4WD Short Course - Any 4WD Short Course truck is allowed in this class.  This class will be combined with the 2WD Short Course trucks if not enough vehicles are present.

1/8 Electric Buggy - this class will be split out into sportsman and expert categories based upon the number of entrants.  If not enough vehicles are present in order to race this class, then the entrants may run their vehicles with the nitro classes.

1/10 2WD Buggy - we have had a few people lately inquire about whether or not we can race 2wd buggy at our track.  As long as we have 5 or more entrants we will run it!

Novice - Any vehicle is welcome in this class.  This class will consist of first time entrants, and drivers 12 years of age or under.  Entry is at the discretion of the race director.

Other - Rattlesnake is open to all types of off-road radio control vehicles.  If you have a vehicle and you are not sure which class it fits into, then please contact us.  Race day decisions will be made using common sense.  For example, a nitro t-maxx might run with the truggies, while a 1/10 scale stadium truck would run in Novice or with the short course trucks.

Race Length

Each class will run two qualifiers followed by a main.  All classes will run 5 minute qualifiers.  Short course trucks will run 10 minute mains.  1/8 Electric will run 10 minute mains.  All nitro classes will run 20 minute mains.  The Novice (Free) class will run a 5 minute main.  Changes to the race length for the good of all those present on any particular race day are at the discretion of the race director.

Track Procedures:

Turn marshals may not work on or repair cars. All cars must enter and exit the racing surface via the pit lane at all times. Any cars damaged and placed in the infield will remain there until that race is over. All drivers must turn marshal the race immediately following their race!

***Final Decisions regarding rules interpretations and infractions are solely at the discretion of the Race Director***

Rattlesnake Raceway allows only 1/8 and 1/10 scale Radio Control vehicles on our track!  Please be respectful and courteous of all the hardwork and effort that a volunteer run facility like this takes to maintain.

TRANSPONDER UPDATE

The Club has acquired a limited number of public/loaner transponders for race day events. For those of you who are new to RC Racing, a transponder is a small electronic device that connects to your vehicle that times and counts your laps. If you are serious about racing, we highly recommend that you eventually acquire a personal transponder. They can be purchased new for around $100. You can find them through either of our sponsors, www.toadzrc.com or www.amainhobbies.com. Make sure you acquire a AMBrc compatible transponder! Contact us for details if necessary.
