2012 RattleSnake Raceway Dirt Oval Rule Book
General Rules
Race procedures:
Heat Races:
All classes will run two rounds of 40 lap heat races. All heat races will be randomly sorted, and will use a heads up start. First place in each heat race will earn 1 point, second will earn 2 points, third earns 3 points, and seventh will earn 7 points, NO MATTER HOW FAST YOU WENT. Heat races will be randomly resorted between rounds. The computer selects who starts where, so you may start in the front three times, or in the back, but most will be spread throughout based on random draw. In the event of a tie for points, the tie breaker will be the two heat times added together for each racer, with the faster times winning the tie breaker.
Main Events:
All classes will run main events based on a scheduled number of laps, NOT TIME. The six racers in each class with the lowest combined point totals will advance straight into the A-Main. The next six will be in the B-Main, etc...
A-Main Event Lengths
All A-Main Events will be 50 laps with the Exception of Special Races
All B-Mains and Lower will be 40 laps
Track Procedures
All cars must enter and exit the racing surface via the pit lane at all times. Any cars damaged and placed in the infield will remain there until that race is over. All drivers must turn marshal the race immediately following their race. All cars will be made available for tech inspection. All racers SHOULD have a personal transponder.
Race Format
8 cars maximum per heat race. There will be no fewer than 2 rounds of heat races, unless poor weather or other uncontrollable circumstances arise.
RattleSnake Dirt Oval uses a modified form of DLMRA rules for 8th Scale, and a modified form of DODC Rules for 10th scale classes. There are a few minor additions to each of the respective rule books, and these additions are to help adapt the rules to our series.

If you want to get serious and live in the grey area, race a real dirt oval class. Any violations of the spirit of the rules stated above will result in disqualification of the run by the driver in violation, and that driver will be given one attempt to adhere to the rules. Next violation will result in disqualification from the event.
