Track Safety
At Rattlesnake Raceway we take safety seriously. Some of these vehicles can weigh up to 10 pounds. And they are speeding along at 40 miles per hour on the straightaway. In addition the nitro vehicles have moving parts, and the engine and exhaust can both be hot enough to burn on contact. Please use caution and care when handling these vehicles. The following rules are mandatory! Please read and when you are at the track make sure that others are behaving in a safe manner as well.
1. Anyone who races or plays at our track, or even steps foot on our premises, must have a current ROAR membership. Membership is $25/year and it gives you liability coverage in case of an accident. The form can be downloaded by clicking on the following link: ROAR Application.pdf
2. Children 12 years of age or under must be attended by an adult at all times. No exceptions! Please make sure that your children are not using the track to play on. Once again, these vehicles can do serious damage if you are not careful.
3. Children 12 years of age or under are not allowed to corner marshall for the nitro races unless accompanied by a parent.
4. Do not use the straightaway to cross the track! It takes less than 2 seconds for the more powerful vehicles to travel the 175 foot straightaway. Regardless of how fast you think you can move, you are not fast enough to dodge vehicles on the straightaway.
5. Do not pick Nitro vehicles up from the top, bottom, sides, or by grabbing the tires! Nitro vehicles can only be picked up safely by grabbing the front and rear of the vehicle, or the rear wing. You will get burned if you do not follow this rule!
6. You may not run your RC vehicles in the parking area surrounding the track. You will hit someone or crash into someones real car if you do so. You will be asked to leave if you do not follow this rule.
7. Do not drive your vehicles backwards on the track!
8. Do not use the straightaway to enter and exit the track with your vehicle. Enter and exit on pit lane only!
9. Use common sense and please, be safe and have fun!
